DIY - "Kick-ass" magazine holder

J'ai trouvé sur le blog de Noma Deveraux, Love Live Laugh and Blog, ce DIY*. 

Je trouve que c'est plutôt original, futé et surtout pas trop difficile (et c'est là où les DIY sont le plus intéressant, non?)

 *DIY = Do-It-Yourself = à-faire-soi-même

I found, on the blog by Noma Deveraux, Live Love Laugh and Blog, this DIY.

I think it's rather original, smart and above all, not very difficult (and that's interesting where DIY's are concerned, right?)

Qu'est qu'il faut?

• 2 cintres métalliques (ou même en bois si vous préférez)


• une agrafeuse avec ses agrafes.


• 4 vieilles chambres-à-air en caoutchouc de pneus vélo (à récupérer éventuellement chez un réparateur de vélos)


• des ciseaux

What do you need?

• 2 metallic clothes hangers (or wooden ones, if you prefer)


• a staple machine with it's staples


• 4 old inner tire tubes for a bicycle tire (you might find some in a bicycle repair shop)


• a pair of scissors

Coupez des bandes dans
les chambres-à-air pour les parties horizontales, selon la longueurs des
magazines que vous voulez y mettre. 

Ici Noma a utilisé 6 bandes mais plus on met les bandes rapprochées, plus le tressage sera serré!



You
start by cutting the inner tubes for horizontal strips, adapting them
to the length of the magazines that you're going to put in. 

Here, Noma cut 6 strips but the more strips you make the tighter the brading will be.

Ensuite, coupez
les bandes verticaux en mesurant 2 fois la largeur des magazines + 20
cm. Puis, pour faciliter le travaille, Noma met les bandes verticales sur une
table avec à chaque bout les cintres pour ensuite les agrafer autour des
cintres.



Next, you can cut the vertical strips which will be as long as the width of your magazines + 20
cm. After, to make the work easier, Noma puts the vertical strips on a table
with the clothes hangers at both ends. Now you just staples the ends
around the hangers.

Maintenant, on
peut tresser toutes les bandes horizontales en les partageant bien sur
toute la distance. Après, il suffit de bien agrafer les bouts sur les
bandes verticales et c'est fini !



Finally
you can brade the horizontal strips through the vertical ones and you
divide them equally. You just need to staples the sides and you're done !

J'aime cette version à cause du caoutchouc des chambres-à-aire, ça fait un peu industriel. Mais on peut évidemment faire ce porte-magazine avec d'autre sortes de bandes aussi.

Moi, je pensais à du tissu en jeans.

I like this edition because of the rubber of the tire tubes, it looks a little industrial. But obviously you can make this with other kind of strips too.

I was thinking maybe with denim.
